“Taxi Brooklyn” is a comedy police procedural TV series of co-production of France and the United States that premiered on April 14, 2014, simultaneously on NBC and TF1. The TV series inspired by the successful franchise “Taxi” by Luc Besson. The TV series follows the adventures of a knit team consisting of female NYPD detective and a taxi driver, a native of France. Gary Scott Thompson is the series creator and executive producer.

The TV series has received mixed or average reviews from critics, but generally favorable reviews from the audience. Thus, the TV series has a score of 51 out of 100 on Metacritic, based on 15 reviews from critics, whilst the audience rated the series at 6.3 out of 10, based on 31 user ratings. On Rotten Tomatoes, the TV show has a 38% approval rating, with an average score of 4.6 out of 10, based on 16 reviews from critics, whereas the audience rated the series at 3/5, with a 40% approval rating, based on 48 user votes. On IMDB, the TV series has a score of 6.1 out of 10, based on over 2,200 user votes, 45 reviews from viewers, and 1 review from critics. On, the show has a score of 6.8 out of 10, in accordance with 81 votes. The pilot episode of the TV series directed by Olivier Megaton drew 5.34 million viewers, while a finale of the series has been viewed by 5.12 million viewers.

“Taxi Brooklyn” TV Series Brief Overview

The storyline of the TV series revolves around two protagonists: Cat Sullivan (Chyler Leigh), an Irish-American NYPD detective; and Leo Romba (Jacky Ido), a former prisoner and currently taxi driver, suffering from claustrophobia. When the Cat’s driver license was suspended, she hired Leo as her driver and personal assistant. However, as turned out, Leo has sufficient skills to be a true detective. Together they patrol Brooklyn streets and investigate a mysterious case of Cat’s father’s death.

Season 2 Release Date

Unfortunately, on March 6, 2015, NBC cancelled the show after just one season. “Taxi Brooklyn” would not be returning to NBC for a second season. However, it was noted, that the series was cancelled in the United States. Thus, it is possible that the TV show will be revived on another TV channel or streaming video service.
