The CW intends to adapt ‘The Lost Boys’ as a TV series
Given the fact that “The Vampire Diaries” is coming to an end, The CW is compelled to fill up the gap, and thus the network intends to adapt a cult 1987 teen comedy horror film “The Lost Boys” by way of the TV series. The work on the series will be entrusted to Rob Thomas, well known for “Veronica Mars” and “iZombie.”
According to Deadline, it will be a large-scale anthology-style television project consisting of seven seasons. This will be a story which is lasting for seventy years, whereas each season will depict another decade. The backdrop will be changing during each season, whereas only the Lost Boys will be remain. The events of a first season would take place in San Francisco during the Summer of Love, 1967. Allegedly, the main question that will be affected in the new series is “What does it really mean to be immortal?”
The original movie revolves around two brothers, Michael and Sam Emerson, who have moved with their recently divorced mother, Lucy, to the beach community of Santa Carla, California. Eventually, the guys discover that a place where they moved, is actually a shelter for the vampires. It’s worth noting that the original movie was quite successful, given the fact that its score according to IMDB is about 7.2 out of 10 based on over 93,000 user votes, 340 reviews from viewers, and 147 reviews from critics.
