There are two possible scenarios regarding “The Blacklist,” and both of them are favorable. First of all, it’s worth noting that a spin-off series titled “The Blacklist: Redemption” was ordered on May 14, 2016 by NBC. Unfortunately, this fact may serve as an indicator of the possible conclusion of the crime drama series. On the other hand, “The Blacklist: Redemption” may have its own storyline that will be differ from the original script. At the same time, we observe quite appropriate television ratings of the current season (given the fact that the viewing audience is usually decreasing from season to season). The premiere of Season 4 has drawn 6.397 million viewers (-17.62% compared to last season’s premiere) with a 1.30 demo rating (-28.96%) among adults (18-49). For comparisons, The “The Blacklist” Season 3 averaged a 1.42 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 6.83 million viewers. Though we regard these figures as a slight decrease of the viewing audience, but, nonetheless, this is a quite significant decrease of viewers compared to the Season 1 premiere.
As for reception by critics and viewers, it still remains very positive. Currently, according to IMDB, “The Blacklist” has an overall score of 8.2 out of 10 based on over 110,600 user votes, 256 reviews from viewers, and 28 reviews from critics. Meanwhile, according to Rotten Tomatoes, the fourth season of “The Blacklist” has an average score of 4.9 out of 5 and a 100% approval rating based on 15 user ratings.
