This is a story about a complicated marriage between two KGB spies, that settle in the suburbs of Washington, passing themselves off as Americans, shortly after Ronald Reagan’s election to President. This bogus marriage of Philip and Elizabeth Jennings eventually becomes more real and emotional, despite the escalation of the Cold War and their dangerous relationships that they have to maintain, while serving as intelligencers. However, the tension starts to grow when Stan Beeman, an FBI agent working in counterintelligence, appears close to them as their neighbor.
