“Limitless” is an action/thriller TV series that premiered on September 22, 2015, on CBS. The series focuses on a protagonist, who discovered the hidden abilities of his brain thanks to a synthetic drug of a new generation, which provides him an opportunity to fully control his mind. Craig Sweeny is the creator of the TV series and executive producer.

The TV series has received mixed or average reviews from critics, but mainly favorable reviews from the audience. On Metacritic, the TV series has a score of 57 out of 100, in accordance with 30 reviews from critics, whilst the audience rated the series at 7.4 out of 10, based on 86 reviews from viewers. On Rotten Tomatoes, the series has an average score of 6.3 out of 10, with a 59% approval rating, based on 44 reviews from critics, whereas the audience rated the series at 4 out of 5, based on 152 user ratings. On IMDB, the TV series has a score of 8.1 out of 10, based on over 10,000 user votes, 55 reviews from viewers, and 6 reviews from critics. On TV.com, the show has a score of 8.3 out of 10, based on 130 user votes. The pilot episode of the series directed by Marc Webb drew 9.86 million viewers. On October 23, 2015, CBS picked up “Limitless” for a full season of 22 episodes.

“Limitless” Summary

Based on a brilliant 2001 techno-thriller novel “The Dark Fields,” and being a logical sequel of the 2011 thriller of the same name, the series continues the story about the affect of NZT drug and its consequence on human. For this once, the storyline revolves around a 28-year-old guy, who for twelve hours after taking NZT-48 becomes the most educated men in the world, who is able to control his brain for almost 100%. Unlike the protagonist of the original movie, he made a decision to use his new abilities in order to help an FBI.

Season 2 Release Date

UPDATE (May 20, 2016): Bad news came May 18. CBS has cancelled their sci-fi drama series “Limitless” after mere one season. Although this is a sad news, nevertheless, there is one additional announcement. CBS is currently in the negotiations with other television networks that ready to pick up “Limitless” for a second season. Therefore, this is not a conclusion of the story. UPDATE (January 5, 2016): According to the CBS midseason schedule, “Limitless” returns to the small screens in January 2016. Thus, “Limitless” Season 1B premiere is slated for January 5, 2016. As mentioned above, on October 23, 2015, CBS extended “Limitless” for a full season, that may indicate that the series will be renewed for a second season. The first season kicked off on September 22, 2015, and has attracted 9.86 million viewers. The second episode titled “Badge! Gun!” drew 9.73 million viewers. The subsequent episodes have attracted 9.57, 8.03 and 7.9 million viewers, respectively. The series also has received mostly favorable reviews from the audience.
