‘Empire’ focuses on personal and professional life of a hip-hop mogul Lucious Lyon, who is an owner of a multi-million dollar entertainment empire. Due to a fatal diagnosis, he is forced to leave the music business and hand over the reins one of three sons, whereas Lyon’s ex-wife also claims rights to his company.
On August 8, 2016, FOX has published a new trailer for “Empire” Season 3 titled “Cookie Lyon Is Back For Her Family,” where Cookie says “When I first saw you rap, it changed my life.” There is also a flashback of Cookie and Lucious childhood, where they were portrayed as teenagers by Jeremy Carver and Ajiona Alexus.
According to a recent announcement, Taye Diggs inked contract with FOX, to join “Empire” in a third season for a major recurring role. Previously, it was announced that Alvin Nathaniel Joiner (better known as Xzibit) joins ‘Empire’ as a series regular in Season 3. Mariah Carey joins “Empire” as a guest star. Furthermore, it was announced three other stars, who will also join the series, in Season 3. Jeremy Carver, Ajiona Alexus and Ezri Walker will be starring in “Empire” in its third series, according to the latest news. Carver will portray young Lucious, whereas Alexus will act as young Cookie during a flashback. Meantime, Walker will represent a 16-year-old Zeah. Finally, Mariah Carey will be starring as a new character, named Kitty, who will interact with Jamal Lyon.
