‘Blue Exorcist’ Season 2 (Kyoto Saga) Premiere Date Revealed
“Blue Exorcist” also know as “Ao no Exorcist: Kyoto Fujouou-hen” is a television adaptation of the eponymous Japanese manga series, which was launched on April 17, 2011 on JNN (MBC) in Japan and was also broadcast on Adult Swim (Toonamin) in the United States. The anime series is created by the A-1 Pictures studio. On July 04, 2016, after a long hiatus, it was announced that a second season of the anime series has been confirmed. According to the official announcement, a sequel anime, titled “Blue Exorcist: Kyoto Saga” (Season 2) is set to premiere on January 7, 2017. It was also announced that Episodes 1 and 2 will be previewed at a screening at Toho Cinemas Roppongi Hills on January 5, 2017.
The second season of “Blue Exorcist” is directed by Koichi Hatsumi and is based on the original script written by Toshiya Ono; music by Hiroyuki Sawano and Kohta Yamamoto. “Blue Exorcist” Season 2 will kick off on MBS in Japan and will also broadcast on TBS, CBC, BS-TBS and other Japanese television stations. The second season of the anime series is licensed by Aniplex of America in North America.
The first season of “Blue Exorcist” focuses on the story of 15-year-old Rin Okumura, who grew up together with his twin brother Yukio, being parented by Father Shiro Fujimoto, an Exorcist. Once, the brothers have suddenly learned that they’re the sons of Satan. One day, while making an attempt to save his father from the death, Rin draws the demon-slaying sword Kurikara, which restrains his demonic powers. Henceforth, Rin possesses the power of blue flame, able to destroy everything. After this incident, Rin decides to turn into an Exorcist, to follow his father’s footprints, fighting against Satan. Rin enrolls at the special institution, which was established in order to resist the demonic realm, Gehenna. Here, Rin discovers that his brother is actually a veteran Exorcist and is one of his teachers. Subsequently, Rin is going on a journey to become the true Exorcist, assisted by his brother and other fellow students of the prestigious True Cross Academy.
