A sophomore season of an American crime drama series “Blindspot” kicked off on Wednesday, September 14, 2016 at 10:00PM on NBC, and its debut has garnered over seven million viewers, as well as has been mainly praised by the target audience. Certainly, millions of fans strive to find out, should we expect “Blindspot” Season 3 on NBC or no, and when will its release date? There has been no official announcement of the renewal so far. However, you can scroll down, to subscribe for our notifications, or get acquainted with our forecast on the subject.
Though we may observe a significant drop of the audience during the Season 2 premiere, we, nonetheless, consider the odds on renewal as quite favourable due to a positive reaction from the viewers. Besides, it’s quite usual trend when the viewership is decreasing from season to season. Currently, according to IMDB, “Blindspot” has a score of 7.6 out of 10 based on over 35,200 user votes, over 100 reviews from viewers and 20 reviews from critics. At the same time, according to Rotten Tomatoes, the second season of the crime drama has a score of 4 out of 5 with a 87% approval rating based on about 30 user votes.
The premiere of “Blindspot” Season 2 has drawn 7.098 million viewers (-33.07% compared to last season’s premiere) with a 1.50 demo rating among adults (18-49). For comparisons, “Blindspot” Season 1 averaged a 1.83 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 6.92 million viewers. So, we hope that the viewership will align during the second season.
“Blindspot” focuses on the story of Jane Doe, who found herself naked in Times Square with amnesia, while her body has been covered with various tattoos. During the investigation by an FBI it was revealed that each tattoo is a hint for a crime to be solved. The TV series is created by Martin Gero, who also serves as executive producer.
