The anime is created by the Gonzo studio, directed by Hiroshi Ikehata, and is based on the original script written by Kazuho Hyodo; music by Endō. FUNimation has licensed the anime series in North America. The anime is available via their website, as well as Crunchyroll and other online video streaming websites.
The supernatural anime has received generally favourable reviews from the viewers. On Crunchyroll the anime has a score of 3.6 stars out of 5 based on 19 votes and 19 reviews. At the same time, according to MyAnimeList, “Akiba’s Trip: The Animation” has a score of 6.46/10 based on 7,720 user votes.
Akihabara — is a commercial area which has been occupied by the creatures, known as “Bugged Ones.” These supernatural entities caused the chaos in the city. They’re able to possess their victims if they bite them. A storyline follows Tamotsu and his sister, Niwaka, who went to their favourite Otaku shop which is located in Akihabara. Soon the siblings realise that they’re able to stop the Bugged Ones, by ripping off their clothes.
