Akatsuki no Yona Season 2 Release Date
“Akatsuki no Yona” is an anime adaptation of a Japanese manga series of the same name, written by Mizuho Kusanagi, first appeared yet in 2009. A first season of anime series, consisting of twenty four episodes, debuted on October 7, 2014 on AT-X, Tokyo MX, SUN, TVA, and on other Japanese television channels. An adaptation of the anime series for English-speaking audience, made by Funimation, streamed since March 17, 2015. Initially, only twelve episodes were dubbed, beginning with a thirteenth episode, whereas a first part of the season was dubbed subsequently.
“Akatsuki no Yona” Anime Series Brief Overview
Yona is the only princess of the kingdom of Kouka, who lives a luxury carefree life, as befits any princess. She possesses everything she wants: best clothes and finery, delicious sweets, loving father, King II, as well as strong feelings to Soo-won, her childhood friend and beloved. In other words, she lives the life, everyone is dreaming about.
Everything has changed on the night of Yona’s sixteenth birthday. Almost ideal world disintegrates, when Yona becomes a witness that her beloved Soo-won has killed her father. Yona’s bodyguard Son Hak rescues her life and they both are escaping from the kingdom to the Village of Wind, where Hak was born.
Hak’s grandfather Son Mundok directs them to the searches of an oracle, named Ik-su, who unveils them an ancient legend about the first king of Kouka, Hiryuu as well as about the four dragons who once has united the kingdom of Kouka. Now the protagonists, accompanied by Ik-su’s assistant Yun, are starting a journey, to discover the dragons, in order to preserve the Kingdom of Kouka and their own life.
